The
Tonia's Garden B&B
is located in a 19th century palace, still run by the
same family who originally built it.
While our renovations are
still a work in progress, we
continue
to accept suggestions from our guests in order to
provide better service
and a more comfortable and
hospitable environment.
We are proud to have maintained the integrity
of the original structure
of the building while providing eco-friendly updates.
In
2009 we installed solar panels which almost entirely
supply the energy to run the B&B guest rooms, as well as
installing a thermal roof insulation which has resulted
in lower energy consumption.
Recyclable materials are
used throughout the mansion, including compost which is
used in the garden. Energy-saving light bulbs are used
exclusively throughout the B&B and the electric
appliances are classified as energy efficient as well.
All
rooms feature ceiling fans to cool the rooms in the
summer months.
All linens are laundered
with eco-friendly detergents. Balconies are accessible
through sound-proofed glass doors. Each bathroom
features a shower stall to conserve water and energy as
well.
Guests
are welcome to access hi-speed internet at a workstation
on the first floor of the mansion. Wi-Fi is also
available by guest activation.
The B&B’s garden, which
still maintains the same layout as was established by
its original founders, features fruit orchards full of
lemons, oranges, tangerines and limes and is
characterized by typical stone from Vesuvius.
This
pristine garden is truly a breath of fresh air, one of
the few, if not only, green spots within the limits of
the city center. For this reason, we opted against
construction of an internal car parking area.
